the life of a bio/geo student
a typical day of a bio/geo student is characterized by days starting (much to the dismay of the student) most often at 9 am. the student usually has at least one 10 hour day at the university each week. lectures are often short, being one hour which is a plus but this means the student needs to walk around campus a lot which is terribad because its currently -30 degrees celcius outside. when the student is not in lecture, he or she is attending labs which are most often weekly. if gods hold the student in their favour, labs may be biweekly or maybe even occaisional if they really really really like the student. if labs are occaisional, the student usually waves his or her hands in the air and celebrates. since the student is studying two disciplines, his or her lab schedule can be quite complex. biology labs are usually 3 hours long and involve complex procedures that even the ta's don't understand. the student usually curses under their breath in these situations and are relieved when the lab ends earlier than expected. the student is also pleased that the lab procedure can be completed with in the alloted 3 hour time period but begin to curse under their breath when it's time to write up the 17 page lab report thats the due the same week he or she has 3 midterms to study for. the student does not hold geography labs in the same regard, for they are often 2 hours long consisting of uneccesarily long introductions and explanations of seemingly trivial procedures. the student becomes extremely frustrated when he or she finds out that actual procedures need to be completed on his or her own time. the student then spends the next half an hour finding a time to meet with his or her partners but that proves to be extremely difficult because the students' schedules are so diverse and the machine we are using is so loud that it would be disruptive if we chose a time when there was a lecture in the next room. the bio/geo student usually has no time for readings because his or her schedule is so demanding. the bio/geo student's day leaves them exhausted but they still stay up late playing addicting mmorpgs and engaging in weekly pub nights that make getting up at 9 am for the next long day of class most difficult. that is the life of a bio/geo student.
