1. the desktop is clean! screw all the icons and short cuts on a standard windows desktop. it's confusing and cluttered.
2. the dock! i have all my programs on the dock. the icons make the programs easier to find and it beats looking through a "start menu" thats loaded with crap that you never use/care about.
3. mail! i use this to check my hotmail and university email account so i never have to log in.
4. safari! it's the world's best browser because it's the fastest!
5. preview! i use it to view lecture notes in pdf format. way easier than buying/downloading acrobat reader.
6. the menu bar! because it changes based on what window you currently have open. it just keeps all the windows clean looking.
7. the finder! its just more organized than the file browser on windows.
8. everything is so easy to customize.
9. applications don't use folders to organize themselves. so uninstalling programs is as easy as dragging ONE ICON into the recycling bin. one icon also means you can find applications quicker.
10. there is no need to buy/download antivirus software!
11. you can easily control which programs open upon starting up your computer.
12. that stupid bar with all your running applications (thats in the bottom right hand corner of a pc screen) is gone!
13. spotlight! INSTANT searching through all the files on your computer.
14. there is no need to install camera, printer or external hard drive drivers because most come already preinstalled!
of course like all computers, mac's are not almighty. but even a defunct logic board after 2 and half years won't stop me from purchasing another one of these babies (i admit that it was my own fault - i shouldn't have been running stuff off my external hard drive). they made these puppies with me in mind and i cringe every time i use a pc (i'm using one at the momen't and it's driving me crazy!).
